Grey and wood
Sometimes things just don’t work out as you had in mind. This sideboard gave me a big headache because my original idea involving funky pink neon paint and flamingos just wasn’t it. So, halfway I changed my mind and ended up removing all the fresh paint of the drawers again!
First of all, I cleaned and sanded the piece. I took out the rack (originally for vinyls), and fixed small wooden blocks to the back of the drawers to keep them in place. I painted everything in carbon grey chalk paint. As I continued with my original idea (see the photo of the sketch), I changed my mind and decided to go for industrial. I removed the paint off the drawers again and sanded it down. Then I added pull out cuts for some originality to the piece. I added legs (that I removed from another piece I upcycled) to elevate the sideboard a little. At last I sealed it all with a matte varnish.
